For many EFL teachers, the dream of developing their craft in the UK feels out of reach; too expensive, too disruptive, too far from the students they’re responsible for. The Anglotec Teacher Immersion Programme was designed to change that.
Based at Anglotec Academy in Scarborough, a British Council accredited school with over 40 years of excellence, this programme invites non-native English teachers to spend four or more weeks in the UK, growing professionally while accompanying their own students on a parallel learning journey.
Here’s how it works:
You recruit a group of 8–12 students to enrol in an Anglotec course, and in return, you receive free teacher training, full-board homestay accommodation, and a £500 stipend
for every four-week period. The investment is in your students’ English.
Your own professional development comes as part of the deal.
What will your day look like?
Mornings are dedicated to teacher development — interactive sessions led by DELTA-qualified trainers covering classroom management, communicative teaching techniques, lesson planning and how to handle mixed-level groups. These aren’t abstract theories. They’re practical tools you can apply the moment you return home.
Afternoons bring a different kind of learning: real experience. You’ll work alongside Anglotec staff, support international students, and practise your English in a genuinely immersive environment. Evenings offer cultural activities, reflection sessions and informal conversations — the kind of authentic British experience that no textbook can replicate.
By the end of the programme, you’ll leave with two certificates — an Anglotec CPD Certificate (30+ hours) and a CEFR-aligned English Level Certificate — and the kind of classroom confidence that only comes from teaching in a new environment.
